Akiko's Original Paintings in shows: 

Four of her paintings "An Evening Outing," "Through the Eyes of a Leopard," "Wisdom of the Cheetah," and "Watchers" were accepted for Call of the Wild juried wildlife art exhibition at CIAO Art Gallery in Wyoming. The exhibition is from November 29 through December 19, 2008.how

Five of her paintings were accepted for "10th Painting, Drawing, Photography & Print Juried Online International Art Exhibition" at Upstream People Gallery. The exhibition runs through November 30, 2008.

Five of her paintings won awards in San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo, California, in August 2008:
A Lion Face: 1st place in Wildlife in Oil/Acrylic
Paint Me, Protect Us: 2nd place in Wildlife Oil/Acrylic
Sunbathers: 2nd place in Domestic Animals in Oil/Acrylic
Lion and I: 1st place in Miniature Paintings
Early Morning Stroll: 3rd place in Miniature Paintings

"Paint Me, Protect Us" was accepted for the 21st International Exhibition on Animals in Art. The artwork was on display at Veterinary Medicine Library, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from March 29 through April 27, 2008.

"A Sunny Spot" was awarded the First Place in the Miniature Art competition, and "Home Alone" and "In The Tenderness of Light" were awarded Honorable Mention in the Oil/Acrylic Paintings competition in San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo, California, in August 2007.

"Please! Please!" (ACEO: Retriever #2) wasawarded the First Place and "In the Light" the Third Place in the Miniature Art competition, in San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo, California, in August 2006.

"Through the Eyes of a Cougar" has been accepted for the juried art exhibit "Bold Expressions," hosted by Northern California Arts, Inc. The artwork had been on display at Sacramento Fine Arts Center, Carmichael, California from October 4 through October 30, 2005.

"Hummingbird" has been awarded the Third Place in the Domestic Animals competition; "Bird Watching" Honorable Mention in the Domestic Animals competition; and, "Through the Eyes of a Cougar" Honorable Mention in the Oil/Acrylic Paintings competition as well as the Wildlife competition, in San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo, California, in August 2005.  The artwork had been on display at San Mateo Expo Center, San Mateo, California from August 12 through 21, 2005.

"The Leopard Observes..." and "An Encounter" have been accepted for the juried art show "4th Annual Friends of Columbian Park Zoo Wildlife Art Show." The artwork had been on display at FOCPZ in Lafayette, Indiana from September 9 through October 1, 2005.

"Through the Eyes of a White Tiger" has been accepted for the juried art exhibit "Central Coast Fine Art Competition." The artwork had been on display at Morro Bay Art Association Gallery (835 Main St., Morro Bay), California from August 11 through September 18, 2005.

"Vanishing Point" has been accepted for the juried art exhibit "52nd Annual Exhibition" by National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, inc. The artwork had been on display at Salmagundi Club (47 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY), New York from July 8 through July 22, 2005.

"An Evening Outing" and "Through the Eyes of a Tiger" have been accepted for Girardot National Juried Exhibition. The artwork will had been on display at Arts Council of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Missouri from July 1 through July 30, 2005.

"Home Alone" has been accepted for the 18th National Juried Art Exhibition presented by the South Cobb Arts Alliance. The artwork will be on display at Mable House Arts Center, Mableton, Georgia, July 12 through August 15, 2005.

"On Duty" has been accepted for the Rome Art Coterie 2005 National Juried Show. The artwork had been on display at Rome Art Coterie, Rome, Georgia, from June 17 through June 30, 2005.

"An Encounter" has been accepted for the 18th International Exhibition on Animals in Art. The artwork had been on display at Veterinary Medicine Library, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from March 19 through April 17, 2005.

"Home Alone" has been accepted for the 43rd Tri-State National Exhibition. The artwork had been on display at Beaumont Art League in Beaumont, Texas, from February 12 through March 12, 2005.

"Vanishing Point" has been accepted for the Watercolor and Pastel Show Juried Exhibition. The artwork had been on display at Mirror Pond Gallery in Bend, Oregon, from November 5 through 30, 2004.

"Snowbound" and "Lionheart" have been accepted for the juried art show "Literature, Liberty and Art." The artwork had been on display at Northbrook Public Library in Northbrook, Illinois from October 1 through 29, 2004

"Lionheart" and "Snowbound"have been accepted for the juried art show "3rd Annual Friends of Columbian Park Zoo Wildlife Art Show." The artwork had been on display at FOCPZ in Lafayette, Indiana from September 10 through 25, 2004

"Vanishing Point" and "Rescued" have been awarded Honorable Mention in the Domestic Animals and Wildlife competitions, respectively, in San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo, California, in August 2004. 

"To the Shore" has been accepted for the juried art exhibit "51st Annual Exhibition" by National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, inc. The artwork had been on display at Salmagundi Club (47 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY), New York from July 29 through August 13, 2004.

"Sunday Afternoon" has been accepted for the juried art exhibit "Central Coast Fine Art Competition." The artwork had been on display at Morro Bay Art Association Gallery (835 Main St., Morro Bay), California from July 1 through August 8, 2004.

"Pals," "To the Shore," and "Ant" have been accepted for the juried art exhibit "WORLD OF ART." The artwork had been on display at The Mable House Cultural Center in Mableton, Georgia from April 19 through May 14, 2004.

"Praying Mantis" has been accepted for the 42nd Tri-State National Exhibition. The artwork had been on display at Beaumont Art League in Beaumont, Texas, from February 1 through 28, 2004.

"Catnip" has been accepted for Arts Central November Juried Watercolor and Pastel Show. The artwork had been on display at Mirror Pond Gallery in Bend, Oregon, from November 7 through 30, 2003.

"Beetle" has been accepted for Smithtown Township Arts Council's 28th Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition and had been on display at the Mills Pond House (St James, New York), through October 31. 2003.

"Watcher" has been accepted for the Second Annual Juried Art Show "The Magic of Animals," at Friends of the Columbian Park Zoo in Indiana. The painting had been on display through October 28, 2003.

"The Gaze" has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the acrylics and oil competition in San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo, California, in August 2003.
