The Mexican Gray Wolf is the smallest gray wolf subspecies present in North America. They were eradicated by humans. By the 1950s, the Mexican Gray Wolf had been eliminated from the wild. Today, an estimated 300 Mexican Wolves survive in facilities at the US and Mexico.
